About the Grasmere area

The picturesque village of Grasmere, located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, is perhaps best known as the residence of William Wordsworth, who once referred to it as "the most beautiful spot that man has ever discovered." In addition, the village contains a number of shops, pubs, a 13th-century church, and Grasmere Lake. Every August, Grasmere Sports is held, where participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling.
