A real home from home, this cosy cottage welcomes four people and one lucky dog. The welcoming living/dining room comes complete with wood burner and stunning views towards Helvellyn. The well-equipped kitchen is at the rear of the cottage and has views up Glenridding Dodd. Upstairs are the two bedrooms, a spacious king-size master bedroom and a cosy twin room, along with the family bathroom. As well as private parking for one car, there is an outdoor seating area to the front of the cottage and a lockable store for bikes, perfect for those who prefer to explore by pedal power.
Less than a mile from the banks of Ullswater, treat guests and your dog to a trip on an Ullswater Steamer and explore all that the lake has to offer. Hop off at Aira Force (3.5 miles) and visit the waterfall or head all the way to the northern tip of the water at Pooley Bridge (8.5 miles).
If you fancy trying your hand at being in charge, make a splash and hire your own boat or canoe, dip into a cove for the perfect picnic spot and a day to remember. Reward the day’s activities or treat yourselves to a night off from the kitchen at one of Glenridding’s many eateries, some with magnificent views over the water.
Admire the character of this pretty cottage as soon as you arrive and head inside to unpack. Find yourself in the open-plan lounge/diner which is a brilliantly bright space boasting marvellous views through the large window. Throw a log on the wood burner and fire it up as you sit on the sofa with a good book or watch TV.
A lovely space in which to rustle up a delicious feast, the kitchen has room for more than one chef to get involved and is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, a breakfast bar and a larder. The larder houses the washing machine and full-size fridge/freezer in addition to providing lots of storage space.
Serve up your masterpiece at the table in the lounge and raise a glass before heading upstairs to rest weary heads. Climb the open-tread stairs to find both bedrooms. Decorated in light, tranquil tones with plenty of natural light, both the king-size and the twin are lovely places in which to drift off.
After rising and shining and admiring the views, head into the family bathroom with WC to freshen up for the day with a soak in the bath or a shower. Take your morning brew outside and start the day with an al fresco breakfast if the morning is light and warm in the small garden area to the front of the property.
Close to the parking space at the end of the terrace, find the stone outbuilding where you can store bikes if you’re planning to explore on two wheels.
