Causey Pike, Robinson, and Newlands Valley

The village of Portinscale is located just a mile from Keswick on the north-western shore of Derwentwater. The centre of Keswick is just ten minutes walk away by an off-road footpath. The village lies close to the beautiful Newlands Valley (pictured), one of the Lake District’s best-kept secrets with the Newlands Round one of the best ridge walks in the Lake District. Portinscale is on the Honister Rambler bus route opening up opportunities for linear walks from Borrowdale and Buttermere back to the village. Nearby are two marinas where sailing, windsurfing and canoeing are offered, either for instruction or hire and there is also a jetty at Nichol End where you can catch the motor launch that circuits the lake.
